Here are a few of the qualities and values that I am looking for in a long term relationship as well as some information about me:
Health – For the last couple of years and from now one health will be my number 1 job. I am currently getting back into shape after a period of not being able to walk for 8 months. A good fit would be HIV- and someone who would encourage me to keep up this approach and who might even like working out at the gym together (although I am also open that my partner see that as his private time.) My health experience also includes outdoor activities, yoga and stress management.
Monogamy – This is not negotiable. To me, monogamy is the greatest sexual journey as it means that each partner must be prepared to provide the ultimate pleasure to the other so that there is never a question of looking outside the relationship for comfort, excitement or challenge. Many people like the idea of it, but cannot do it. Make certain you can do it.
Adventure – I am an adventurous person. I am also an entrepreneur so that only makes sense. I drove a Jeep Sarah for 15 years because it felt like an adventure just driving to the store. It was also great for driving in Mexico, on the beach and off road. Unlike some of you, I have chosen not included any “Tom Cruise-esque” photos of my skydiving over Venice, white water rafting in the Grand Canyon or wrestling a shark in the South Pacific. However, I am quite open and capable to those activities. A great fit would someone who would like to discover all the beauty that California has.
Honest – This is not negotiable. A good fit would be someone who realizes that honesty pretty much the key to everything – especially building trust.
Trust – A great fit would be someone who understands that trust is earned, not given. It will plan an important part in our relationship because after about a six month period of building it, we are going to take the condoms off and live life the natural way. So, understanding that trust is earned and maintained on a daily, hourly and moment-to-moment basis is important to me.
Animals – I love animals. I currently have 3 Pit Bulls and 1 Terrier/Dachshund mix. I also have a Solomon Island Eclectus and about 12 Doves. I will most likely have horses at the new property that I am planning to purchase next year. A great fit would be someone who also loves animals and enjoys living life with them.
Food & Wine – I love good food and good wine. I am not a food & wine snob so you do not need to know anything about food or wine except that you love them both. I lived in Paris for a couple of years and studied at the Cordon Bleu. As I am from Texas, I also love beer.
Spontaneous – I like spontaneity and appreciate it in others. For example, I like the idea of surprising my partner in the kitchen and interrupting his preparation of food to practice “monogamy” right then and there.
Drama & Craziness – No thank you. This does not include acting crazy from time to time.
Passion – Absolutely, my goal is to fall in love with someone and be in love with them for the rest of my life as well as for them to fall in love with me and be in love with me for the rest of my life.
Friends – I have a small but great group of friends who are genuine, sincere and a joy to spend time with.
International – I have lived in France and travelled to many places outside the United States. I love to travel and have some great places in mind for the future. I speak Spanish and French. A great fit would be someone who has an interest in languages and other cultures as well.
Maturity – Well, what can I say except that I am 56 years old. Actually, it started grossing me out when I was about 50…until I read somewhere that the cells in our body renew themselves about every 7 years. That made it a bit easier to accept knowing that my body parts were not really as old as I was. I generally identify with people younger than me. I have included a wide age group.

In the past, I have been a bad picker. Those days are over. Was considering returning to my hometown of Houston, Texas. After some time, decided to stay right here in San Diego. Why leave paradise? Ready to find that healthy positive relationship where living in the now, honesty, integrity and passion play big roles. Only sane need apply. Looking to discover California in the coming years even though I have lived here for the past 15.
